Verbal

Verbal: A word formed by a verb, but which functions as a noun, adjective or adverb.
There are three types of verbals: infinitives, gerunds, and participles.
Examples:
Walking is the best exercise.
To err is human.
They explored the sunken vessel.

Voice

  Category: Grammar glossary

Voice: “Voice” refers to the relationship between the subject and the verb. Normally, the subject of a sentence is the doer of the action indicated by the verb. Such sentences are said to be in “active voice.” In “passive voice,” however, the subject of the sentence/clause is acted upon by another agent.
