Usually when people say i watched a movie it makes more sense , however people have become lazy and say saw a movie instead . What is correct ?

i saw a movie
or
i watched a movie

is there a difference between american english or british english to saw or watched ? ?

Hi Hiraw,

Yes, it is better to use "watched" in this context. When you "watch" something, you intentionally observe it. On the other hand, when you "see" something, you might just notice it accidentally and not give it your full attention.

Regards.
