Auxiliary verb

Auxiliary verb: A helping verb that is used along with the main verb.
Primary auxiliaries: be, do, have
Modal auxiliaries: can could, shall, should, will, would, ought, must

Examples:
be: I am eating an apple.
have: I have eaten an apple.
do: He does not eat apples.
Note: be, do & have can also function independently - as main verbs (for e.g., I am a student, He does gardening, I have a car)

can: I can eat an apple whenever I want to.
will: I will eat an apple now.
should: you should eat an apple every day.
