Voice: “Voice” refers to the relationship between the subject and the verb. Normally, the subject of a sentence is the doer of the action indicated by the verb. Such sentences are said to be in “active voice.” In “passive voice,” however, the subject of the sentence/clause is acted upon by another agent.
Examples:
We ate those apples. (active voice)
Those apples were eaten by us. (passive voice)
